The Center for Arts Education (CAE) is seeking an intern to assist in the daily operations of the organization.
An intern at The Center for Arts Education will have the unique opportunity to engage in a variety of individual and team projects, including CAE’s programmatic work, research projects, outreach efforts (including social media), fundraising activities, and more, depending on the needs of the organization and interests of the intern. Responsibilities will range from communicating with elected officials and school personnel to assisting with events to organizing and recording data. As a member of the CAE team, an intern will attend all full staff meetings, develop valuable workplace skills, and gain knowledge of the nonprofit sector and issues surrounding arts education.
Candidate must be comfortable working as part of a team and have computer proficiency, strong communication and organizational skills, and a keen attention to detail. Interest and experience in arts and/or education is an advantage.
School credit may be arranged. Commitment of 15-20 hours per week; schedule is flexible.

Description
The Center for Arts Education (CAE) is seeking interns for its Teaching and Learning Department beginning in mid-September through late May. Interns work closely with department staff helping to coordinate, facilitate and document multiple aspects of CAE’s teaching and learning flagship programs, including in-school and afterschool teaching artist residencies, parent engagement activities, conferences, trainings and professional development workshops, school visits and student activities. Strong work ethic and administrative skills, attention to detail, ability to handle various projects simultaneously, and a passion for working with and on behalf young people in the arts is required. Academic credit is provided if applicable. Interns must be available to work 15-20 hours a week.
Interns will be hired to work directly with one of the following programs:
Career Development Program (CDP) offers opportunities for high school students and educators to participate in school-to-career activities in the arts and creative sector.
Parents As Arts Partners Program (PAAP) engages parents and families in the school community through hands-on, interactive arts education activities that build parents’ understanding about the importance of the arts.
School Arts Support Initiative (SASI) is dedicated to transforming middle schools that have little or no arts education into arts-rich schools.
