All Parents Have to Do is ASK!

In September 2007 CAE published My Child, the Arts and Learning, a guide for parents of Pre K–2 NYC public school students, which provided an easy to understand introduction to the benefits of and need for arts education in the schools. At the request of parents and teachers, CAE is releasing two new Guides in 2008, Your Child, Your School and the Arts: A Guide for Parents with Children in Grades 3-5 and Your Child, Your School and the Arts: A Guide for Parents with Children in Grades 6-8. The guides provide parents with information that address the following:

Providing an introduction to public school parents about the benefits and need for arts education
Raising awareness about the current state of arts education in NYC public schools and learn about NY State requirements for arts education
Demonstrating how parents can support arts in education at home and at school
