LEADERSHIP IN PRACTICE GRANT PROGRAM

In June of
2005, eight New York City public schools with outstanding arts
education programs were awarded 2005-2007 Leadership in Practice
(Leadership) grants by CAE. While taking part in CAE’s Partnership
Grant Program
, each of these schools developed innovative
strategies for teaching and learning that incorporate the arts.
Throughout the two-year grant, CAE will enable each school to
share these strategies for student achievement with a wider network
of educators throughout the City and nationwide. Leadership grants,
of up to $30,000, provide financial assistance, technical assistance
and professional development, helping schools share their “best
practices” in the form of curricula, CD-ROMs, web sites and
lesson plans. Additionally, Leadership grants help schools develop
the tools they need to measure the impact of their arts programs
on student achievement.
