2007-2008 PARENTS AS ARTS PARTNERS GRANTEE SUMMARIES On December 19, 2007, The Center for Arts Education awarded 2007-2008 Parents As Arts Partners (PAAP) grants of up to $3,000 each to 150 New York City public schools from all five boroughs. This year, we are proud to announce that nearly 40% of PAAP grant recipients are first-time CAE grantees, a reflection of the high application rate (nearly 35%) of schools that have never received a grant before from CAE. New programs scheduled for this year include PS 361 M in Manhattan where parents will create a labyrinth around a 9-foot sculpture in the school courtyard. Another new program at PS 465 Q in Far Rockaway will create a 4-minute rap video on math to be distributed on the internet and to other schools. Through these grants, parents can participate in hands-on arts activities that connect to their child’s school-day arts learning while taking advantage of the rich arts and cultural resources that only New York City has to offer. For nearly a decade, CAE has awarded annual PAAP grants of up to $3,000 each to 150 New York City public schools from all five boroughs.
