Patrick McKearn

Patrick McKearnPatrick McKearn, jazz pianist, composer and writer, has been performing, teaching and living in New York City since 1984.

He has accompanied such jazz greats as Illinois Jacquet, Betty Carter, Oscar Brown Jr, and Abbey Lincoln.
Recent collaborations include a three hour improvised soundtrack for Jan Baracz’s film installation Live Video at Art in General in New York City. His CD, Throw Out the Lifeline, features his arrangements and compositions, and is available through CD Baby.

In addition to teaching privately, Mr. McKearn has also worked as a Teaching Artist for Lincoln Center Institute since 1999, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and more recently, the Center for Arts Education in Manhattan. In the spring of 2011, he assumed the position of musical director for Project Find, a New York based NGO for senior housing.
