Romy Nordlinger

Romy NordlingerRomy Nordlinger has been a Theatre Teaching Artist in NYC for over 15 years. She has taught literacy through storytelling in libraries in almost every borough of Manhattan as well as socio-drama and creative drama in numerous schools, community centers and homeless shelters and afterschool programs. Romy has been privileged to teach in many district 75 schools and is devoted to her work with special education students. She is a member of VSA (an international non profit organization celebrating the power of the arts have made in the lives of individuals with disabilities) where she completed their Communities of Practice Unit (a detailed curriculum unit on adapting lessons for the developmentally disabled population). Romy is committed to teaching through the arts and is always inspired to witness the power of the arts as a learning tool that fosters creativity, self esteem, expression and ensemble (while teaching core curriculums) and having fun!

As an actor, Romy has had a twenty some year career and has been privileged to perform in such theatres as Actors Theatre of Louisville, The New York International Fringe Festival, The Kirk Theatre (Off Broadway), Primary stages and Circle Rep theatre company amongst others. She’s been seen on Law & Order CI, All My Children and One Life to Live as well as many independent films, voice overs and commercials. She is a proud member of The League of Professional Theatre Woman, Resonance Theatre Ensemble and The Pack. BFA graduate with Honors, University of the Arts.

Romy’s playwrighting credits include the critically acclaimed Lipshtick (2011 NY International Fringe Festival), Sex & Sealing Wax performed as part of the Estrogenious Festival as well as The Midtown International Theatre Festival and Broadville performed at the Source Theatre as part of their Playground Development Series. Her play The Feeling Part was accepted as part of the 2011 Dream Up Festival and is currently in development with Packawallop Theatre Co.
